Marilyn Monroe & MAC Cosmetics

How absolutely stunning and iconic is Marilyn Monroe? Very! That's your answer, so when I found out MAC cosmetics and Marilyn Monroe were being thrown together I got a little bit excited! I know this is a very late blog considering the collection has been out for a while now but I have been dying to write about it. I went into House Of Fraiser crossing my fingers they'd have the collection there as it was only a counter, they did though! I was extremely excited and practically dived onto the Marilyn Monroe stand haha!

After all the photos I had seen online I was pretty sure I knew what I wanted, the colours of the lipsticks especially looked gorgeous and the packaging with Marilyn on the front was absolutely stunning! Although when I saw the lipsticks in person I was not that impressed, well they were all sold out so I couldn't purchase them even if I wanted to but it just proved to me that buying cosmetics online is never a good idea because colours are not true! Haha, I also like to be able to get an idea of the texture of the product! How ever I did end up purchasing the blush in 'Legendary' which is a really pale pink colour with a very subtle shimmer! With it being so pale I was pretty worried it wouldn't show up on my fair skin but I rushed home and tried it out and fell in love with it, the colour build up is gorgeous and it glides onto my skin beautifully! It gives a lovely rosy look. PERFECT FOR AUTUMN!

I have not used any other blush since purchasing it! I also ended up buying MACs famous red lipstick 'Russian Red' as well, I've been eyeing it up for ages and went for the plunge! It's a gorgeous classic deep red colour. I was a bit scared of the matte finish but it just took some getting used to and now I love it, although after taking it off you may want to apply a lot of lip balm because it does dry your lips out. Anyway, back onto the Marilyn collection, I may go back into a store and purchase the eyeshadow in the colour 'Preferred Blonde' as I think it'd be a lovely base colour! So fingers crossed.
